As the RIAA grasp at straws, MP3 downloading geeks wipe themselves clean
November 25, 2006
Nothing has pissed me off more in recent months than the oppressive movements and legal actions taken by the RIAA. Every so often, here at TheTrukstoP.com, I'll post up some recent news and information about what the RIAA has been up to; and the reactions of people like you and me.
First up, is the best product ever conceived, and something that should be underneath the Christmas tree of every MP3 downloading geek in the USA: RIAA toilet paper! Funnily enough, being a KISS fan, I would have thought Gene Simmons would have gotten around to making KISS toilet paper before this - but this is just gold comedy right here. Fun holiday tip: purchase a roll, and mail it to your favorite lawyer representing the RIAA.
With the humor out of the way, let's get onto something a little more serious. Some of you might be aware, that the RIAA recently opened a file-sharing lawsuit against a woman that doesn't own or use a computer. That sounds very hard to believe, right? Well, what's even harder to believe is they have recently attempted to snatch and inspect computers owned by family members. It sounds to me like they're grasping for straws.
It seems that this particular case has grabbed the attention of many people, including the folks over at No Parking, the web comic.
There are better solutions out there. The RIAA just isn't following up on them. Their legal actions are going to hurt the recording industry more than the downloading of MP3's.
