10 of the coolest Star Wars images ever made
Part IV
March 12, 2008
With the launch of DayoftheJedi.com, I decided to come back to a post I'd made here in the past. It was time to resurrect the "10 coolest Star Wars images" series. It's been a while since posting one of these here at The-TrukstoP.com, and seeing as Jedi Knights are better than Ninjas and Pirates, let's get the ball rolling, shall we?
As with the last lists, there's a variety of pictures that I've selected: awesome compositions, humorous images, and others. Click on the pics for the full sizes. Here we go:
10. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO RLY
Thanks to 4chan, Internet Memes have taken over the Internet... and the O RLY owl was of no exception. Here's the Star Wars version of Darth Rly; stealing a line from Episode III.
9. Unemployment
I love the motivator parodies circulating the web, and there's been a recent stream of Star Wars themed ones - here's a good one. Must be a member of the 501st on their way to look for a new job.
8. Leading Along
I guess this is how they train the Imperial Walkers... actually this composition is by an artist called Casey Weldon, and you can check out all of Casey's art right here. Love the Death Star in the sky in the background there...
7. Mr. Shrek
Worth1000.com has to be one of my favorite sites online, and they often will have "Cliche" Photoshop contests, where entrants get to mash-up characters from films. This is one of the theme pieces that was made for the Triple Cliche Heck contest. Here, in Mr. Shrek, Princess Leia stands by her Bean. This composition was made by Duchamp.
6. Star Wars Play-Doh for Xbox
Okay, so well, maybe Lego Star Wars on X-Box just wasn't your thing, huh? Have no fear, Play-Doh is here: with Star Wars Play-Doh for Xbox 360! Witness Palpatine splatter as he falls down the Death Star exhaust shaft. See Tarkin melt as the Death Doh is cooked in an oven. & check out Princess Leia's Slave Outfit! This moment of hilarity is brought to you by Game Couch.
5. The AT-AT in History
Not many people realize this, but the AT-AT was actually a real invention used during World War II. No, seriously! Back when Hitler got banned from Xbox Live, he got super pissed. So he deployed a special group of Nazis into Botswana with an AT-AT. Meanwhile, Hitler partied. When the AT-AT entered Botswana, he ate some watermelon. Of course, it was a giant failure, because Hitler ended up buying a Wii, and recalled the AT-AT. Indiana Jones found it when he took on the Nazis, and kindly informed George Lucas, who used it in The Empire Strikes Back.
4. Unbelievable Creation
I am not exactly sure what this masterpiece says about Star Wars exactly, but one thing is clear. To Mara Jade Skywalker, size clearly does not matter...
3. On the Imperial Assembly Line
George Lucas sends down the staff members of Quality Assurance to ensure that the merchandising assembly line is running efficiently. Why is it when I see this pic I think of the beginning of the Laverne and Shirley theme?
2. Shut them all down!
I can haz dianogaz? AH... what's an image list without a LOLcat! This was probably the first Star Wars themed LOLcat I stumbled across, and now of course, there's a whole bunch of them out there. There's even a LOLstarwars site now called I Can Haz Force?
1. Vandar
For those who've never played the games of or read the comics of the Knights of the Old Republic series, Master Vandar is one of Yoda's species, and a member of the Jedi Council. He is the wise Jedi of the series, and pretty much a bad-ass all round. This sample is from a larger wallpaper design posted over at Rabittooth.com and you can check out all the wallpapers (there's lots of them!) at this location.
