Life is not an easy path for anyone. Nor should it be. Life should be a complicated selection of difficult ordeals and positive joy beyond comprehension. It is what inspires us to follow dreams, reach accomplishments, and make mistakes. These are the things that influence us to become who we are and how we interact with other people.
...& nobody is perfect. The text contained within DAMAGESCAPE is proof that I am not. Everything within is a collection of reactions and thoughts, both positive and negative. It is the honest recoil from occurrences in my life. Reactions and recoil; that is exactly what DAMAGESCAPE became. Initially when I began developing the concept for this book, it was going to be something along the lines of SOBERING THOUGHTS, merely a collection of lyrical concepts. Instead, it became a compilation of raw reactions from events and incidences I have seen, been through, been told about, or experienced.
DAMAGESCAPE quickly became somewhat of a collection of negative events I observed or thought of. Or negative events I realized not many people were considering in the world around us. For example, how easy is it for us to totter through life and become so engrossed into the trivial inconveniences we face, while elsewhere a single person has no idea what to do with themselves after being raped, molested, or lost someone dear to them? How is it we can trundle through our pathetic mere existences when these things happen? & who are the people that deal with enforcing justice upon the perpetrators of said offenses? & what exactly is this justice?
DAMAGESCAPE is a journey into the cesspit of the planet Earth - a dialog within me and with God about the anger and anguish, the loss and the disturbances, and the questions about why there are never answers...
