Been in any Bands? Tell us about them!
I was in a few bands through High School. The main band went through many name changes. We were originally called Divinity, but were eventually known as Enema. We played a mix of originals and covers, and focused mainly on the harder edged style of music at the time, such as Pantera, Sepultura, Sacred Reich and Allegiance. I haven't been in a band for many years, but prior to moving to the USA from Australia, I was working with the guys in CRASHPIT, mainly on their website, but also on other promotional tasks as well. I currently work online from the US on the SLAM website, and also on Corey Hodgetts' Contagious site.
What did you want to be as a kid?
Musician
Musical Influences:
KISS, Metallica, VAST, Rollins Band, Devin Townsend, Marilyn Manson, Alice Cooper... and so much more - too many to mention.
First concert:
KISS on the KISS My Ass Downunder tour in Perth, Australia in 1995.
Most recent concert:
Henry Rollins spoken word show in Perth, Australia - 2 days before I moved to the USA.
First albums:
The Pinnochio soundtrack. I was 4.
Latest album purchase:
We've Come For You All - Anthrax
5 CDs you are playing the most at the moment:
Ocean Machine - Devin Townsend
Terria - Devin Townsend
Accelerated Evolution - The Devin Townsend Band
We've Come For You All - Anthrax
Tales from the Otherside - Corey Hodgetts
All-time favourite album:
At the moment it's City by Strapping Young Lad, but it changes for me all the time. You can't go past the other Devin Townsend CDs and KISS' Revenge and Carnival of Souls - I always find myself going back to those albums to get kicked in the arse quite often.
Favourite musicians:
Eric Carr, Devin Townsend, Rollins, Jon Crosby
Person admired most:
Eric Carr. The guy is a legend and was taken from us way too soon. RIP, Eric...
Ideal meal:
Satay Chicken
Favourite drink(s):
Bourbon with Pepsi; Coffee Chill (Oh how I miss thee in the US of A)
Favourite TV show(s):
24, The Dead Zone, CSI, The X Files, Millennium
Favourite Film(s):
Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, Spiderman
Favourite website(s):
TheTrukstoP.Com, SLAMonline, KISS Asylum, T`bone's Star Wars Universe, Metal Sludge and Nightly.Net
Favourite Sports:
Aussie Rules Footy and Cricket
Happiest experience:
Meeting my wife, Kammy
Most terrifying experience:
Watching someone close to me wanting nothing more than to die, while she slipped deeper into a medically diagnosed psychosis.
Greatest accomplishment you've ever made:
Being issued with my visa to the USA. It was more than a dream come true, and something Kammy and I worked towards for years.
Most foolish thing ever done:
Skulled a huge glass of a strong vodka mix at a mate's 21st. I don't remember anything after that, but apparently I had empty beer cartons on my head and photos were taken of me. I've yet to see them, but the next day was seedy as fuck.
What gets under your skin the most?
Ignorance, racism and know-it-alls.
What would be your unrealised ambition or your dream come true?
Well, I have a dream that came true and another ambition I'd like to come true...
My first dream came true on April 30, 2003, when I moved to the USA to be with Kammy and the kids for good. Our wedding was held on May 9.
My unrealised ambition at present: complete work on my current writing project, and hopefully one day have it published.
I have many more. There are many mountains to climb and conquer - and I want them all.
If you could perform or collaborate with any other famous musician, who would it be and why?
Three musos come to mind straight away. Devin Townsend, Roger Waters and Jon Crosby. All of them have created music that has touched me in some way or another.
If you could meet anyone famous, alive or dead, who would you want it to be and why?
Eric Carr. I met most of the guys in KISS, but Eric was always (and still is) my favourite member. I never got to see him live. To have met him would have been a dream come true and an absolute honor.
Other things you like to do:
Web design, listen to music, hang with my kids, drink bourbon.
What is your most favorite quote?
"Look, fuck off and fuck off now..."
